Eligibility

Player eligibility for the enitre year is determined by the child's age as of August 1.

Age divisions are:

• Under-6 (typically kindergarten*)
• Under-8 (typically 1st & 2nd grade)
• Under-10 (typically 3rd & 4th grade)
• Under-12 (typically 5th & 6th grade)

Players may play "up" an age division with parent, coach and club permission. Typically this is only done to keep siblings together.

*LYS does not permit participation by children younger than 5 years of age.

Playing Rules

• 3 vs 3 / Under-6
• 4 vs 4 / Under-8
• 6 vs 6 / Under-10
• 6 vs 6 / Under-12

Playing rules are in Adobe PDF format. Acrobat reader is required to view/print these documents. Adobe Acrobat Reader is available for free.

Rules may be adjusted by mutual agreement to reflect safety or weather concerns: i.e. cold or wet weather might make a shorter game more enjoyable for younger children; more frequent breaks might be appropriate in very hot weather; playing with smaller sides (less players) may be appropriate when attendance is an issue for one or both teams. Please note: we strongly discourage playing with larger sides than the rules call for as the number and quality of ball touches is greatly reduced.
