Ideas and Resources for Coaches

Coaching a Young Team? First time coaching?

Many of the games you played as a child make excellent soccer activities:

  • Follow the Leader
  • Red Light/Green Light - There are lots of variations on listening-stopping-starting games.
  • Keep Away - Define an area appropriate for the number of players and their skill level.
  • Tag - Make it into dribble tag for soccer. Make sure to use boundaries.
  • Obstacle Course - Over, under and around . . .
  • Races and Relays (with small teams, so we don't have to stand in long lines!)
