1v1

Equipment
4 cones per two players

Setup
Using cones make 2, 1-yard wide goals, 5 yards apart.

Game
Players start back-to-back between goals with ball between them. On signal, play begins. Either player can score in either goal (this keeps the "lazy" player from goaltending). Play is continuous (no restarts). A player may continue attacking until they lose the ball. Boundaries are optional. You may find it necessary to impose sanctions for "negative" play - players who boot the ball far away in order to "rest" or avoid otherwise having to defend.

By using multiple fields you can setup a mini-tournament using a "ladder" system. Play one minute games. After one minute, the winner moves up the ladder, the loser moves down the ladder. Over a series of games, the most competitive players end up at the top of the ladder. The games are likely to become more competitive as players migrate to their "appropriate" level of competition. These games can be quite exhausting. Typically, after 4 or 5 1-minute games with 1 minute rest periods, the level of play will drop off dramatically.
